Biography

The Sisters of Mercy is an English rock band formed in Leeds, England in 1980. The band’s line-up underwent many changes over the years but the all time members were Andrew Eldritch (singer, songwriter) and Doktor Avalanche (drums machine). The band’s current line-up composes of Andrew Eldritch (vocals, keyboard, guitar), Ben Christo (guitars, backing vocals), Christ Catalyst (guitars, backing vocals) and Doktor Avalanche (drum machine). The band has become very influential on the second wave of gothic rock bands, though Eldritch denied any connection with gothic subculture. Sisters of Mercy cited such artists as their main influences as Leonard Cohen, Hawkwind, Gary Glitter, The Velvet Underground, The Stooges, Motörhead, Suicide, The Birthday Party, and The Fall. Then band has released only three studio albums and now they are touring only. From our site, you can download Sisters of Mercy’s albums First and Last Always (1985), Floodland (1987) and Vision Thing (1990) in mp3.
