American rock and country singer-songwriter Stephen Fain Earle was born on January 17, 1955 in Fort Monroe, Virginia, the United States. He moved to Nashville, Tennessee and began his music career as a songwriter. His song “When You Fall In Love” recorded by Johnny Lee reached the top 10 on the charts. Later he began singing himself and during his career, he has released 13 studio albums. Two of them - The Revolution Starts Now and Washington Square Serenade earned him two Grammy Awards for Best Contemporary Folk Album in 2005 and in 2008 respectively. He was also given a Lifetime Achievement Award by BBC Radio 2. Besides music career, he is also a political activist famous for his anti-war position and political lyrics especially in the album Jerusalem (2002).
