Biography

German alternative and indie rock band Tocotronic comes from Hamburg and was formed in 1993. The band was founded by drummer Arne Zank and bassist Jan Müller who had previously played in other bands like Punkarsch and Meine Eltern. The twosome was joined by Dirk von Lowtzow who came in Hamburg for studying. He filled the band on the vocals and rhythm guitar. The fourth member is Rick McPhail, he plays lead guitar and keyboard. The band quickly gained the popularity among the underground communities and the local public. Their debut album “Digital ist besser” was released in 1995 through independent label L’Age d’Or. In order to support the album, the band embarked on a tour in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Since that time, the band has released eight more albums. The last one “Schall und Wahn” reached number one on the German charts. You can download Tocotronic’s last album in mp3 from our site.
