Biography

Transglobal Underground (also known as Trans-Global Underground or simply as TGU) is an English world fusion music and ethnic electronica music band from London that was founded in 1990 by Kasiek, Mantu and Dubulah and currently consists of the Belgian fusion music artist Natacha Atlas and British Indian Dhol musician Johnny Kalsi. They came to prominence in the mid-1990 with their most successful album, International Times, which produced several singles including "Taal Zaman", "Dustbowl", "Jatayu", "Holy Roman Empire", "Monter Au Ciel", "Tromba Marina" and "International Times". It also peaked at number 40 in the UK was praised by critics. To support this album they along with Zulu vocalist Thobekile Doreen Webster went on tour throughout the US.
