Trivium is an American metalcore, thrash metal and heavy metal band that was formed in 1999 by Matt Heafy and Brad Lewter, and currently consists of Matt Heafy (lead vocals, backing vocals, lead guitar, rhythm guitar), Corey Beaulieu (backing vocals, lead vocals, lead guitar, rhythm guitar), Paolo Gregoletto (bass, backing vocals) and Travis Smith (drums, percussion). They are in essence a heavy metal band, however they have crossed lines of other similar genres such as metalcore, thrash, and even death metal, their style has evolved over the years from their earliest work on Ember to Inferno right through to Shogun, there is a clear thrash influence from Metallica and some early In Flames. In 2006, they released their most successful album, The Crusade, which yielded five singles, "Entrance of the Conflagration", "Anthem (We Are the Fire)", "The Rising", "To the Rats" and "Becoming The Dragon".
