American R&B/pop/soul singer and actress Whitney Houston (birth name Whitney Elizabeth Houston) was born on August 9, 1963, in Newark, New Jersey, U.S. Known as "The Voice" for her "powerful, penetrating pop-gospel" vocals, she has been listed by Rolling Stone magazine as one of The 100 Greatest Singers of All Time. Whitney Houston quickly gained popularity in 1985 with her first album, Whitney Houston, which you may download in mp3 from our site.
