Zyklon is a Norwegian blackened death metal band that was founded in 1998 by musician and multi-instrumentalist Samoth (birth name Tomas Thormodsæter Haugen) and drummer Trym Torson (birth name Kai Johnny Mosaker). The band currently consists of Secthdamon (vocals, bass), Samoth (guitar), Destructhor (guitar) and Trym (drums). In the beginning, they performed as an opening act for various bands. During this time, they also started recording their debut demo, which later attracted the attention of Candlelight Records. Therefore, they quickly signed to this record label. In early 2001, they released their breakthrough debut album, World of Worms, which yielded the band's first singles such as "Hammer Revelation", "Deduced to Overkill", "Chaos Deathcult" and "Storm Detonation".
