Biography

ZZ Top is an American rock, blues-rock and hard rock band that was formed in 1969 and currently consists of Billy Gibbons (lead vocals and lead guitar), Dusty Hill (vocals, bass, and keyboards), and Frank Beard (drums). The band holds the distinction of being among the few rock bands still composed of its original recording members for nearly 40 years. Nearly as well-known as their music is the group's biker-frontiersmen image: the band is almost always pictured wearing sunglasses (a nod to their 1979 song "Cheap Sunglasses"), Gibbons and Hill (the singing frontmen) wearing similar if not matching black clothing (usually biker leathers), black cowboy hats or ball caps. The band also was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. In 1983, they released their most commercially-successful album, Eliminator, which produced several singles such as "Gimme All Your Lovin'", "Got Me Under Pressure", "Sharp Dressed Man", "TV Dinners" and "Legs".
